This summer ElizabethIdeSchool and LakeviewJunior High School will be getting long overdue renovations that will enhance the school experience for students and also enhance operating efficiencies.At both schools deteriorating asbestos containing tile floors will be abated and replaced and student restrooms will be remodeled with new fixtures to conserve water and electricity.At Elizabeth Ide classroom carpeting, which has reached the end of its serviceable life, will be replaced with tile floors.All school buildings will receive new “wireless” access to more fully integrate the use of educational technology into the classroom.Work began on June 3rd and is scheduled to be completed by August 13th.All work is funded by operating funds at no additional cost to the community.Watch for updates on the web page at www.ccsd66.org. Dr. Tiede began his career as a teacher in the Center Cass School District 66 in 1973 and also has served as an assistant principal and principal prior to being named superintendent of schools in 2000. He lives with his wife in Woodridge, IL.
