Holiday Cheer!

This week ends the first half of the school year and Winter Break begins with the close of school on Friday, December 16th. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 3rd. I hope that everyone has a restful and joyous vacation celebrating with family and friends. We look forward to the return on students after the break for the challenges that 2012 will bring to us!

Here are some inspirational thoughts as you contemplate the coming holiday season:

One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day. Don't clean it up too quickly. ~Andy Rooney

Christmas is a necessity. There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we're here for something else besides ourselves. ~Eric Sevareid

Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time. ~Laura Ingalls Wilder

Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall. ~Larry Wilde, The Merry Book of Christmas

Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart. ~Washington Irving

Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas. ~Peg Bracken

Happy Holidays!
