Center Cass School District 66 Approves Balanced Budget
The elimination of four full time teaching positions due to declining enrollment and other cost savings coupled with nearly $430,000 of stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) allows Center Cass School District 66 to enter the 2009-2010 school year with a balanced budget. The Board of Education approved the balanced $12.1 million budget at it's September 22, 2009 meeting.
Center Cass is slated to receive nearly $430,000 in ARRA fund over the next two years with nearly $229,000 slated to come during this fiscal year. Center Cass plans to use these funds to offset special education costs for students attending out of district day school programs and add educational technology to support learning by children with special needs.
